Chicken Jerky Warning from the FDA

Posted on January 06, 2012

The FDA has put out a warning regarding chicken jerky pet treats.  Over the past 12 months there has been an alarming amount of pets that have been sickened by chicken jerky treats, especially those from China.  To be on the safe side our veterinarians recommend not giving any chicken jerky treats.  Healthier treat options include CET Chews, Lean Treats, carrots, green beans, and VeggieDents.  Also, don't underestimate the power of giving your pet some of their normal dry food from a special 'treat jar.'  Often dogs are just as excited by this 'special treat' because it is given with love.
